I recently read in the letters of D.W. Winnicott his reference to Marion Milner and her ability to speak with reverie. Of course I immediately had to engage in a search about her. While in London I had read her book The Hands of the Living God, a 16 year case study with a schizophrenic girl. The word reverie fascinates me and I recognize it as a word that encapsulates and gives a nurturing field within the process of creating. Also I believe what Anne Bogart means when she says the play world of the work is the shared reverie of the group. And then there follows the work that goes into the building of the generative matrix of the reverie and enthusing (bringing the gods) to the cast or class or group so they then carry it, are born into it and from it. I experience the work then finds its ease and the audience participates with this ease.
